Presents!!

I received some presents today that I really love...and need! My Mom gave me 2 sets of 500-thread count sheets that look amazing and I'm sure they're going to feel heavenly. My sister Kris gave me a Shun kitchen knife that I've been wanting for months. Check out the elegant wrapping:

Cooking has become a bit of an obsession this year and I've had my eye on the Shun classic knives. In case you're not familiar with this type of knife, they're like the samurai swords of the cooking world. So beautiful and so razor sharp!! She inspired me to start collecting a fine set of knives over time earlier this year but things have been a little tight recently so I've been putting that off. Anyway, I came right home and chopped up some vegetables and the knife handled like a dream! I plan to collect the full set over the next year. My sister Athena gave me something that I really need right now and it was deeply appreciated!!

We all met up at the Greek Festival in Irvine today. We had some great Greek food and even had "Galactic Julio" (not the real name but what I like to call it). Unfortunately, the atmosphere wasn't really conducive to reconnecting with each other. To compound matters, I hadn't seen my nephew Nick in a couple of weeks and he only wanted to hang with me and Grampa. You can't really blame him though 'cause me and my Dad are like big kids with him, we spoil him, and we never say "no". The net effect though was that he wanted nothing to do with anyone else even though everyone wanted to get a little love from the little guy. It also meant that I was happily absorbed in feeding, hydrating, and watching him so I ended up not spending time with everyone else that I've missed and wanted to catch up with. Anyway, I hope we all can get together again soon, but somewhere a little more relaxed.

New job!

I start a new job tomorrow which I'm very excited about. Having some time off was great but I'm very anxious to get back to the kind of work that I'm passionate about.

Welcome to my new blog!

I've been meaning to create a new, kinder, gentler blog so here it is! This new version will contain only 100% of the blog goodness you've come to enjoy.
